IBC Bearings with Ultra-Diamond AXCoat IBC developed a new generation of hybrid bearings additionally to the introduced ATCoat bearings. The new AXCoat further to the well known advantages an Ultra-Diamond coating that provides a harder surface and in combination with ceramic silicium nitrit balls bearings reach until now unknown features.
AXCoat increases surface hardness more than 85 HCr, reduces friction and temperature generation tremendously. The lifetime of the bearing will be multiplied, higher loads and higher speeds or applications for instance in water are possible. AXCoat operates when not lubricated sufficiently. Additionally rust will be prevented. AXCoat is a new dimension in surface technology. IBC Bearings with ATCoating
ATCoating allows the combination of tough base material with a solidly bonding thin and hard chromium layer resulting in better resistance against fatigue and improving corrosion resistance. This has been proven especially advantageous for high performance roller bearings featuring enhanced life, higher speed at lower running temperature.
Avoiding fretting corrosion often associated with floating bearing arrangements (after micro displacements of bearing outer rings during thermal expansion and contraction or in combination with vibration) is another asset for the application of ATCoated bearings.
This opens new strategies for service (longer life time and easier disassembling in case of replacement).
Typical applications: Aerospace, liquid gas pumps, vacuum pumps, gas turbines, food processing and chemical equipment, construction equipment, machine tools, linear motion guides. |
